My engagement with photography began at the age of eight with black-and-white still photography. Following school, I completed a three-year apprenticeship in photography and subsequently undertook an internship at Dedo Weigert Film, where I later worked as a high-speed camera technician.
I progressed through the camera department, serving first as a clapper loader, then as a focus puller, and as a camera operator. In 2000 and 2001 I attended Steadicam workshops led by Garrett Brown, Liz Ziegler, Mike Bartlett, Valentin Monge, Harry Panagiotidis, Alex Brambilla and Geoffrey Haley. Since 2002 I have worked as a camera and Steadicam operator based in Germany.
In 2010 I introduced the MK-V AR (Alien Revolution) system in Germany, becoming the first worldwide to adapt it successfully to a non-MK-V Steadicam sled and to achieve continuous 360-degree camera rotation. Since 2012 I’m a member of the ACO. In 2020, I was awarded the Operator’s Award for TV Drama for my work on the television series 'Das Boot', Season Two. I continue to work as a camera, Steadicam and AR operator on feature films, TV drama and series, and commercials.
